Job summary

Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, in Milwaukee, WI, offers an Intern - Energy Analytics summer internship. This full-time role may extend to part-time during the academic year, with an hourly rate of $23.10 and paid company holidays.

You'll support energy analytics and market operations, assist in evaluating energy offers, and gain exposure to power generation, forecasting, and market risk mitigation within a Fortune 500 energy company.

Qualifications

• Progress toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, CS, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Economics with graduation after July 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and support improvements to energy offer strategies for power generation sales into wholesale electric markets
• Learn about market integration of new battery projects
• Analyze Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Credit transactions for wind and solar projects
• Review cost parameters for electric generators to improve operating cost forecasting

Job Summary

Power Operations is responsible for day-ahead and real-time electric trading operations for WEC's utility and non-utility projects in wholesale electric markets. The group works to optimize electric load forecasting, generation cost and availability, environmental testing, and load management programs to mitigate risk and promote favorable financial outcomes while reliably serving load.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics and other related majors with a graduation date after July 2027
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Valid Driver's License

Pay Range Minimum: $23.10

Pay Range Maximum: $27.55

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future.
