Wisconsin Electric Power is offering an Intern - Energy Analytics position in Milwaukee, WI. This full-time summer internship with potential part-time hours during the academic year pays $23.10–$27.55 per hour and runs through November 15, 2026.

The role supports day-ahead and real-time energy trading operations and energy analytics. The successful candidate will analyze energy strategies, battery project integration, and PPA/REC transactions while gaining exposure to market-leading energy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with graduation date after July 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and support improvements to energy offer strategies for power generation sales into wholesale electric markets.
• Learn about market integration of new battery projects.
• Analyze Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Credit transactions for wind and solar projects.
• Review cost parameters for electric generators to improve operating cost forecasting.

Job Summary

Power Operations is responsible for day-ahead and real-time electric trading operations for WEC’s utility and non-utility projects in wholesale electric markets. The group works to optimize electric load forecasting, generation cost and availability, environmental testing, and load management programs to mitigate risk and promote favorable financial outcomes while reliably serving load.

Pay Range Minimum: $23.10

Pay Range Maximum: $27.55

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
