Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, Inc. (MERL) seeks an intern for a three-month assignment to explore distributed estimation and control of interconnected dynamical systems. Candidates should be enrolled in a PhD program with knowledge of nonlinear control, state estimation, and distributed estimation theory.

Experience with networked or multi-agent systems is a plus. A relocation stipend and covered travel are provided, along with a monthly Charlie Card for local commuting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a PhD or equivalent program of study.
• Knowledge of classic and advanced multivariable and nonlinear control and estimation.
• Experience with networked control systems or multi-agent systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research into distributed estimation and control of interconnected dynamical systems.
• Explore state estimation problems in large-scale nonlinear sparse differential algebraic systems.
• Contribute to architectural design of distributed estimation and control for modular thermofluid systems.
