Summary

The BioMarin Summer Internship Program will enable students to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the processes and systems within BioMarin, while gaining an insight into the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Over the course of 10-12 weeks, interns gain industry experience while working alongside our talented team on meaningful projects.

Job Description / Project

In this role, you will collaborate with Corporate IT Tech Partners and Solutions Delivery teams, acting as a key link to ensure IT projects are delivered effectively and that technology solutions match business goals and priorities. Constant exposure to new and emerging technologies makes this a great position for someone who thrives on new challenges, has proven skills in system design and is committed to delivering the best solutions possible for the business challenges presented to us by our clients.

Corporate IT provides innovative and efficient IT solutions that drive business success. Our team specializes in delivering comprehensive corporate financial and IT services, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across all platforms. With a focus on collaboration and excellence, we work closely with various departments to meet their unique needs and exceed expectations.

We support Business Development, Compliance, Corporate Affairs, Executive Office, Finance, Global Corporate Real Estate, Global Sourcing & Procurement, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Legal and People (HR).

Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, processes, and project management methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Have a focus on AI‑native solutions to achieve superior results through AI and domain expertise.
  • Problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and guide end‑users.
  • Ability to create process documentation and support end‑user training.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of IT systems, platforms (Microsoft 365, ServiceNow, Veeva, PowerBi, Databricks, SAP) and common industry integrations (SSO, API, ETL).
  • Strong project management and vendor coordination experience.
Qualifications / Eligibility
  • Master's degree candidate in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Certifications in TOGAF, PMP, ITIL, SAFe, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) (Preferred).
  • Must be available to work full time, 40 hours a week.
  • Must be currently enrolled as a full‑time student at an accredited U.S. based university or college and enrolled in the fall term after the completion of the internship or have graduated within 1 year of the start of the program.
  • Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship for on‑site, hybrid roles.
