Job summary

Northwood Hospitality LLC in Charlotte, North Carolina seeks a Cook 1 to join our Culinary Department. You will prepare meals, follow recipes, ensure quality, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.

The role requires a Food Handler's Certificate and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced hotel kitchen; there are opportunities to assist with events and catering. This position supports Ballantyne operations with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player and able to follow instructions.
  • Food handler certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure that all food is of the highest quality and meets standards.
  • Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing food supplies.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
  • Assist with special events and catering as needed.

Job Overview:

As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing delicious meals that delight our guests. You will work closely with our culinary team to ensure consistent food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and adherence to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
