Position Summary

ACP is proud to offer a Conference & Events Internship running from January through June 2027. This position follows a hybrid work schedule based out of ACP’s Washington, DC headquarters and provides an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience supporting the planning and execution of some of the clean energy industry's largest conferences and events. This internship will be paid $20/hour.

The Conference & Events Intern supports ACP’s Events team in the planning and execution of CLEANPOWER, the clean energy industry’s premier conference and exhibition, while also contributing to other spring conferences including Operations, Maintenance & Safety (OMS), Siting & Permitting (S&P), and PEAK Performance Assessment & Modeling (PEAK).

Working closely with conference, registration, and event operations professionals, the intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting conference logistics, attendee engagement, event technology, registration operations, community‑building initiatives, and onsite event execution. The intern will also contribute to the continued development of ACP’s Emerging Leaders program and attendee journey initiatives designed to strengthen engagement before, during, and after ACP events.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of ACP conferences, meetings, and events.
  • Assist with program and content planning, including speaker coordination, scheduling, and materials preparation.
  • Logistics support with organizing pre-event shipments, sponsorship fulfillment coordination with vendors, tracking special event RSVPs, editing onsite event materials such as information packets, security protocols, event playbook; and hotel bill applications. Pre-event and onsite coordination with hotel and convention center partners.
  • Help maintain event-related information and documentation, including attendee lists, session details, and internal tracking materials.
  • Support the use of event technology platforms, including registration systems, speaker management software, and mobile event tools.
  • Assist with on-site or virtual event execution as needed, including day‑of coordination and support.
  • Contribute to post-event activities, such as feedback collection, reporting, and documentation.
  • Support additional projects and tasks as needed to meet team priorities.
Education, Experience, Skills
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with an interest in event management, hospitality, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework or prior internship experience related to events, conferences, or program coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with guidance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with event registration platforms, databases, or project management tools preferred.
  • Interest in clean energy, sustainability, or public policy preferred.
