Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s or advanced degree program (full-time).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0+ preferred.
  • Ability to commit to a 10-week full-time internship in the U.S.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support Hanover Marketing efforts to present the company positively.
  • Plan and assist programs that foster goodwill and external/community relations.
  • Support Hanover Insurance Group Foundation programs.
  • Assist and help lead employee/community programs (e.g., United Way).
  • Help recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for external or internal activities.
  • Contribute to project work: planning, requirements, workflow, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Create and present a final management presentation highlighting summer achievements.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

The Hanover’s Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to work on a variety of critical business assignments, test your skills, use your academic knowledge, and match your interests to a real job.

Through the 10-week summer program (June – mid August), You will:

  • Take on meaningful projects and work alongside some of the very best talent in the industry
  • Be supported and mentored by a community of exceptional talent (leaders, managers, subject matter experts and recent graduates)
  • Participate in a cross-functional team building project focused on corporate philanthropy
  • Attend weekly development workshops with your intern peers
  • Join in engagement and social activities with other interns

Our Marketing team is seeking exceptional college students for our Summer Internship Program, which provides meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth, as well as rewarding career path options
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
  • Coordinate, organize and support efforts to represent Hanover Insurance favorably within and outside of the organization
  • Support and/or plans programs that promote goodwill/good corporate citizenship and fosters relationships with external community leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Support the programs of the Hanover Insurance Group Foundation
  • Support and plays a role in leading employee/community programs (e.g. United Way, Employee outings etc.)
  • Oversee the recruiting, training, and scheduling of volunteers to meet the needs of outside organizations/agencies or inside employee-related programs or events.
  • Participate in project work that may include but is not limited to planning, requirements gathering, workflow documentation, process efficiency assessment, data analysis, research, presentation of recommendations, or implementation
  • Create and present a final presentation for management and leadership members at the close of the internship program highlighting the work you accomplished throughout the summer.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree or advanced degree program
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
  • Ability to commit to a full time 10 week internship program
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to collaborate with peers to ensure processes are efficient
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking/problem solving skills and analytical mindset
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills

Compensation

The target hiring range for this role may vary based on geographic location and other factors, including merit or performance, demonstrated proficiency, skills for the role, education, travel requirements, and experience. Additional compensation may include an annual bonus (which could take the form of a general bonus, sales incentive, or short-term incentive), long-term incentive or spot recognition awards. The posted range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
