Job summary

Keystone Cooperative is seeking an Agronomy Operations Management Intern to participate in daily operations at an agronomy location or seed/fertilizer/chemical hub. You will help organize inventory, assist with fill-ups, and support equipment maintenance while gaining exposure to field operations.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, safety practices, and acquiring licensure progress (Ag CDL, Applicator Licensure Overview) as part of hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited college or university.
• Agronomy junior or senior preferred with field experience.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• Must follow safety standards when handling pesticides and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with equipment and building maintenance.
• Replenish anhydrous ammonia tanks during side dress season.
• Organize and record chemical and seed inventory.
• Learn aspects of operations impacting profit and loss.
• Based at Keystone agronomy location; 70% at location, 30% in fields.

Position Overview

An Agronomy Operations Management Intern will take part in the day-to-day operations of an agronomy location or seed/fertilizer/chemical hub. Organizing product inventory, assisting with fill-ups, maintenance of equipment, and assisting with operational tasks are just a few of the many duties an intern will experience.

Duties And Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to

• Assist with equipment and building maintenance.
• Replenish anhydrous ammonia tanks during side dress season.
• Organize and keep a record of all chemical and seed inventory.
• Obtain an Ag CDL.
• Applicator Licensure Overview, process of spraying and application.
• Learn the aspects of operations that impact the profit and loss of the business.
• Based at Keystone agronomy location.
• 70% at location, 30% in fields.

Skills And Qualifications

• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time.
• Heavy lifting required during some activities.
• Abide by all safety standards and procedures during handling of restricted pesticides and chemicals.
• Agronomy Junior or Senior preferred. Must have previous agronomy/field experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
