Job summary

Tallgrass is seeking an Accounting & Financial Reporting internship in Lakewood, CO for Summer 2027. You will gain exposure to a variety of accounting roles, including operational accounting, financial reporting, and corporate accounting, while supporting the team with real-world projects.

The program emphasizes mentorship, industry exposure, and the potential path to an accounting position after graduation. In-person/hybrid work at our Lakewood office for 10 weeks, May–August.

Qualifications

• Proficiency level in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Passion for innovation and problem-solving, and a continuous drive to improve processes.
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic internal forecasts.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure accuracy in regulatory reporting and third-party transactions.
• Learn how to perform transaction research and document explanations.
• Prepare financial statements and related footnotes.
• Document formal tie outs of financial statements.
• Develop an understanding of the month-end close process from multiple perspectives within the accounting department.
• Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests for internal departments and external audit.
• Other duties as assigned.

About

This internship will get a variety of exposure to Accounting & Financial Reporting. Equally important is the expectation for the selected candidate to gain exposure and experience in an opportunity rich industry. In doing this, the selected candidate will be learning about this industry from a unique position which will require contact with various parts of the company. Students actively enrolled in bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting or Finance with an expected graduation date December 2026-May 2028

What Else You Need To Know

Our internships are temporary full-time positions, in-person/hybrid at our Lakewood office. We will host our Summer 2027 interns from May-August for 10 weeks.

Compensation And Other Benefits

• Pay Range $21.09-$29.88 USD Hourly


• The final pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and working location. The total compensation package for this role may also include; paid time off, a housing stipend and more.

The Fine Print
