Job summary

A leading construction company in Houston is seeking driven college students for a paid internship program. This full-time, in-person role offers hands-on experience in the commercial construction industry, providing exposure to field operations, estimating, and project management. Interns will assist experienced professionals with various jobsite activities, develop understanding of construction documents, and build relationships within the construction environment. The opportunity for future full-time employment is available based on performance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Ability to work in field and office environments.
• Prior construction experience is a plus.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on field experience with construction professionals.
• Assist with field activities and project documentation.
• Support Project Managers with budgeting and scheduling.
• Assist Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and project documentation.
• Participate in progress walks, reporting, and production planning.
• Develop an understanding of construction documents, estimating processes, and budgeting tools.
• Build relationships with field teams, office staff, vendors, and clients.

Internship Program Overview

GMi is seeking driven and motivated students to join our paid Internship Program. This full‑time, in‑person internship provides hands‑on experience in the commercial construction industry, offering exposure to field operations, estimating, and project management. It is designed for individuals who want real‑world experience, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to build a strong foundation for a long‑term career in construction.

What You'll Do

• Gain hands‑on field experience working alongside experienced construction professionals.
• Assist with layout, framing, drywall, and other jobsite activities.
• Support field leadership with material coordination, safety inspections, documentation, and quality control.
• Assist Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, submittals, and project documentation.
• Participate in progress walks, reporting, and production planning.
• Develop an understanding of construction documents, estimating processes, and budgeting tools.
• Build relationships with field teams, office staff, vendors, and clients.
