Job summary

Blue & Co., LLC is seeking ambitious interns for a 2028 Public Accounting Internship (January–April, full-time) across multiple locations including Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH, and other offices. You'll join Tax, Audit, or Healthcare Reimbursement teams and gain hands-on client experience.

You will work under mentors, receive real-time feedback, and perform audits, tax returns, and financial statement support while developing as a future public accounting professional.

Qualifications

• Strong academic performance (GPA 3.2+).
• Accounting/Finance major on track to CPA.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; willing to travel.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audits and reviews.
• Understand how business transactions impact financial statements.
• Prepare basic financial statements and schedules.
• Assist with tax return preparation (1040, S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnerships, 941, 1099).
• Conduct tax research projects.
• Support Medicaid/Medicare cost reports analysis for healthcare facilities.
• Contribute to analyses on mergers, acquisitions, and other engagements.

2028 Public Accounting Internship (January - April | Full-Time)

At Blue & Co., LLC, we’re on the lookout for ambitious interns to jump into our Tax, Audit, or Healthcare Reimbursement teams across multiple locations, including Carmel and Indianapolis, IN; Southern Indiana; Cincinnati and Columbus, OH; Detroit, MI; Lexington and Louisville, KY; and Lubbock, Richardson, Fort Worth, and Waco, TX. What You’ll Do:

As a Blue intern, you’ll gain meaningful, hands‑on experience by contributing directly to our client service teams. You’ll be supported by mentors, receive real‑time feedback, and collaborate with coworkers, leadership, and client business owners.

Depending On Practice Area, You May:

• Assisting with audits and reviews
• Understanding the impact of business transactions on the financial statements and cultivating the “business advisor” perspective
• Preparation of basic financial statements and schedules for clients
• Standard and complex tax return preparation (1040, S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnerships, 941, 1099)
• Tax research projects
• Assistance on Medicaid/Medicare cost reports analysis for health care facilities
• Analysis related to mergers, acquisitions, litigation, ESOPs, and estate and succession planning

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong academic performance (Minimum GPA 3.2)
• Accounting, Finance or related major on track to meet the requirements for CPA exam
• Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, PPT, Outlook and Excel
• Demonstrated leadership and problem‑solving skills
• Success in working independently and as part of a team
• Available to work overtime hours including evening/weekends and travel as necessary
• Exhibit strong communication skills - willingness to ask questions to gain knowledge of complex subjects
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis
