Responsibilities include moving trailers, loading and unloading freight, and coordinating with rail staff to ensure timely operations. The role requires experience with heavy equipment like forklifts and side loaders, strong safety knowledge, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklifts and side loaders in an intermodal setting.
• Knowledge of railroad operations and safety regulations (OSHA).
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and teamwork to coordinate with yard staff.

Responsibilities

• Operate yard trucks (hostler) to move trailers in and out of loading docks.
• Load and unload freight using forklifts, side loaders, and order equipment as necessary.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of all equipment per policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Conduct routine vehicle and equipment inspections for proper function.
• Keep yard clean and organized and assist with heavy lifting as needed.
