Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a logistics professional to provide quotes and routes for inland container movements, secure rates, and facilitate rail, truck, and barge movements. The role requires updating routing data in IQ Ship and generating invoices in SAP.

Negotiate with truckers and support commercial efforts to maximize profitability. A High School diploma with 3 years of logistics experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree a plus.
• 3 years’ experience in various LOG operating positions preferred.
• Logistics / Operation experience in Container Shipping industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate quotes/rates for intermodal freight, bids and spot business.
• Support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding cost-effective and efficient routing.
• Recommend routing changes when alternate routes are preferred.
• Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes.
• Update ZIMAPS quarterly and for missing costs as needed.
• Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship; create routes when auto routing is missing or illogical.
• Update costs in routes when missing.
• Manage changes to vendors/routing in day-to-day operations.
• Execute and manage rail billings and resolve problems as they arise.
