Job summary

Schneider National in Illinois seeks an experienced intermodal driver to haul automotive freight in containers on company‑owned chassis. Most work is drop‑and‑hook with 100% no‑touch freight, driving to railyards across IL, IN, MI and OH.

You will earn mileage pay plus hourly on duty, plus a $12,000 sign‑on bonus paid over 12 months, orientation pay, PTO after 6 months and a yearly bonus up to 3% of gross pay.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Tanker endorsement and HazMat endorsement are strongly preferred.
• Live within 50 miles of Chicago, IL or Elwood, IL.
• Minimum 3 months of Class A driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Haul automotive freight in containers secured to company-owned chassis.
• Haul freight for one customer to/from railyard to various destinations.
• 100% no-touch freight that is 90% drop-and-hook.
• Drive in and out of railyards within IL, IN, MI and OH.
