CPKC's Intermodal & Automotive Operations Supervisor role is based in Bensenville, IL. You will oversee terminal activities, ensure safe handling of railcars and intermodal processes, and lead yard operations with cross-department collaboration to meet schedules and service standards.

The position emphasizes safety, accountability, and continuous improvement, requiring 2 years in railroad/terminal operations, strong problem solving, and adaptability to a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in railroad or terminal operations.
• Ability to learn and use OASIS, TMS, RPM, and TYES.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage yard operations to meet train schedules and targets.
• Lead terminal staff responsible for yard processes.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Train & Engine, Engineering, and Operations Center.
• Issue clear instructions for train movements and yard activities.
• Coordinate hostler, lifter, and truck operations.
• Maintain accurate updates in operational systems.
• Ensure documentation is complete and shared across shifts.
• Monitor compliance and drive process improvements.
• Lead safety initiatives and conduct safety meetings.
• Manage terminal inventory within assigned areas.
• Ensure adherence to policies, safety regulations, and union agreements.
• Oversee perishables operations and service excellence.
