Job summary

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care per VA standards.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ADN/Diploma or BSN).
• Hold or eligible for state RN licensure (full, active).
• Bridge program eligibility to sit for licensure prior to completion.
• Foreign nursing grads require degree equivalency validation.
• VA qualification standards and grade determinations apply.
• Preferred: 2–5 years of surgical specialty outpatient nursing experience.
• Physical requirements include prolonged walking, standing, and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, care coordination, health promotion, and education.
• Develop and implement plans of care based on nursing assessments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective transitions across care continuum.
• Achieve required ANCC Certification within the first year of position.
• Support professional development and evidence-based practice within the team.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with BSN
