Job summary

Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) in Rockbridge, OH, seeks an Equipment Operator 4 for Hocking State Forest. Requires CDL A, will operate heavy equipment and perform maintenance on forest roads and trails. Starts at $23.28/hr with raises to $26.54/hr, full-time schedule 8:00-4:30, M-F, OCSEA union.

Responsibilities include wildfire support, equipment upkeep, and leading a work crew. Benefits include medical, dental/vision, life insurance, and generous paid time off.

What you will do…

  • Operate heavy motorized equipment to complete variety of construction & maintenance functions
  • Perform wildfire support (e.g., forest fire line construction, trails, culverts, roads & bridges)
  • Perform general maintenance & repairs on equipment & buildings/ground maintenance
  • Lead worker with equipment operation
  • Help maintain/repair paved & gravel forest roads, hiking trails, bridle trails, APV trails, bridges & culverts
  • Starting hourly pay of $23.28/hr. with multiple pay increases over your first 4.5 years of service with end salary of $26.54/hr.
