Job summary

SCI is seeking a grounds/maintenance associate in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico. The role involves performing openings/closings for burials and entombments, installing memorials and markers, and handling grave maintenance with heavy equipment.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of equipment operation experience, with a valid driving record for operating the equipment. Safety and preventive maintenance are essential parts of the job.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months experience operating standard equipment.
• Valid license(s)/driving record to operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform openings and closings for burials, entombments, and inurnments.
• Set, install, and assemble memorials, foundations, and markers.
• Install outer burial containers and related components.
• Process work orders from client families for grave/marker maintenance.
• Respond to service requests and complete work orders.
• Conduct Interment Verification Procedures.
• Prepare 25-foot radius around burials and maintain area cleanliness.
• Tamp, fill graves; lay seeds or sod as needed.
• Follow safety rules and Universal Precautions.
• Maintain and protect company assets via preventive maintenance
• Keep work area clean and orderly; complete training courses
