Intermediate Test Technician (2nd shift 2:30pm-12:00am)

Join Mercury Systems as an Intermediate Test Technician (2nd shift 2:30pm-12:00am).

Job Summary

The Test Engineering team ensures the proper operation and functionality of advanced technological products impacting real-world applications. This role involves testing and troubleshooting complex digital system assemblies using cutting-edge equipment. It is suited for a mid-level individual contributor working under limited supervision in routine situations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Apply electronics principles to test and troubleshoot high-density multi-system assemblies at the component level.
  • Perform electrical testing to verify fit, form, and functionality of PCB assemblies using Takaya Flying Probe equipment.
  • Monitor diagnostics tests and measure system performance.
  • Set up and deploy test equipment and programming for flying probe testing.
  • Verify product configurations, test processes, and equipment setup.
  • Record and analyze performance data, and prepare detailed test reports.
  • Update and verify testing programs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot systems and test setups to identify and repair defects.
  • Assist engineers by interpreting diagrams, schematics, and instructions, and perform calculations for testing.
  • Conduct initial tests on new or modified equipment and recommend modifications.
  • Report defects, non-conformances, and communicate with production for resolution.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical components
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency techniques
  • Ability to read and follow test procedures and communicate potential issues effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Experience reading complex schematics and diagnostic specifications
  • Ability to maintain training on equipment and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Oracle, FactoryLogix/Aegis, terminal emulators, Siemens Valor, and Test Expert/Takaya
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and ability to interpret technical data
  • Experience with environmental testing (thermal, shock, vibration)
  • Ability to use various test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters
