Job Summary

The Test Engineering team at Mercury Systems is responsible for ensuring the proper operation and functionality of advanced technological products with real-world impact. This role involves testing and troubleshooting complex digital system assemblies in a fast-paced environment using cutting-edge equipment. It is designed for a mid-level individual contributor working under limited supervision in routine situations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Apply electronics principles to test and troubleshoot high-density multi-system assemblies down to the component level.
  2. Perform electrical testing to verify fit, form, and functionality of PCB assemblies using Takaya Flying Probe equipment.
  3. Monitor diagnostics tests and measure system performance effectively.
  4. Set up and deploy test equipment and programming for flying probe testing.
  5. Verify and validate product configurations, test processes, and equipment setups.
  6. Collect, record, and analyze performance data; prepare detailed test reports.
  7. Update and verify test programs as needed.
  8. Troubleshoot systems and test setups to identify and repair defects.
  9. Assist engineers with process and operation submissions to ensure product and test equipment meet specifications.
  10. Conduct initial tests on new or modified equipment and recommend improvements.
  11. Report defects and non-conforming materials; communicate with production teams for resolution.
  12. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma
  2. At least 3 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical components
  3. Experience with production processes, quality control, and manufacturing efficiency techniques
  4. Ability to read and execute test procedures; effective communication skills
  5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  6. Proficiency in reading schematics and diagnostic specifications for failure analysis
  7. Ability to maintain training on equipment and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Associate degree or higher
  2. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Oracle, FactoryLogix/Aegis, terminal emulators, Siemens Valor, and Test Expert/Takaya
  3. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  4. Experience with complex testing such as Thermal, Shock, Vibration, and Environmental Tests
  5. Ability to interpret technical data and prepare complex test reports
  6. Capability to troubleshoot and debug moderate to complex issues
  7. Experience with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, serial emulators, and networking devices
