OVERVIEW

The ECS Assistant Teacher has a strong interest in problem based learning, small group instruction, differentiation, and supporting the instructional needs of the lead teacher. The ECS Assistant Teacher works collaboratively with classroom teachers, special educators, building specialists, and the Building Leadership Team to provide rigorous and engaging learning opportunities. Candidates should be energetic and progressive minded, with a willingness to work collaboratively with building staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with teachers to support and reinforce compelling, standards‑based lessons that challenge students’ critical thinking and align with lesson, unit, and grade‑level objectives
  • Support a positive, achievement‑oriented, and structured learning environment in which all students can experience success
  • Help ensure that all students are fully and consistently engaged during class time
  • Actively engage with the school community by attending annual ECS events such as Earth Night, Back to School Night, Enrollment Events and Curriculum Nights
  • Fully participate in opportunities for professional growth including but not limited to: weekly professional development meetings, monthly planning days,
Educational Background and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and PA certification
  • Familiarity with charter schools and intermediate grades preferable
Compensation and Benefits
  • Minimum starting salary of $34,904 with consideration given for prior experience.

Clearances current within one year of start date will be required and include Arrest & Conviction Disclosure, Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151), Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Clearance (Act 34), and FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 114). Commonwealth of PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168) and Mandated Reporter Training also will be required.
