Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR seeks an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to develop concepts and designs for heavy industrial projects, providing technical leadership from concept through completion.

The role involves cross-disciplinary collaboration, adherence to budgets and schedules, and occasional travel to project sites. A PE license or progress toward it is required, with 5–10 years of experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. (or M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in heavy industrial mechanical design and project execution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project scope and familiarize with mechanical deliverables including schedule and budget.
• Develop and maintain Project Mechanical Design Criteria and support standards.
• Produce process and mechanical equipment flowsheets.
• Perform and review engineering calculations for equipment sizing, storage volumes, chutes, ducts, piping, and other components as required.
• Prepare and review equipment specifications and documentation.
• Lead and supervise efforts associated with mechanical equipment layouts.
• Coordinate with mechanical and other disciplines in timely fashion.
• Correspond with equipment vendors and evaluate equipment bid packages.
• Ensure that all mechanical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Ensure that the quality of engineering deliverables is in accordance with PENTA standards.
• Oversee and stamp mechanical documents for assigned projects.
• Provide innovative and practical solutions to add value to projects.
• Provide technical feedback and review of designs developed by others on the team.
• Participate in project evaluations, budgeting, and bidding activities.
• Participate and contribute to engineering reports and assessments.
