Job Description

Job Description: Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to be involved with the mechanical design and project management as it relates to healthcare, hospitals, laboratories, specialty laboratories and pharmaceutical facility projects. Attendance in-office 5 days/week (option to work 1 day remote after starting).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems including HVAC – heating, cooling, heat rejection, plumbing – air and water distribution, ventilation, ductwork, sprinklers, boilers, furnaces, air conditioning, building automation and controls.
• Perform system design calculations, load calculations and energy modeling
• Selection of equipment for use in building systems for healthcare, hospital, laboratories, and pharmaceutical projects.
• Prepare mechanical construction documents detailing the designed systems
• Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects
• Ensure design is consistent with the overall vision and design schedules are maintained
• Attend meetings and communicate effectively with clients to establish their needs and discuss design.
• Review of RFPs and development of proposals
• Supervising construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, Bids, and submittal reviews

Job Requirements

• 7 – 10 years of professional experience in designing HVAC Systems for healthcare, hospitals, laboratories and pharmaceutical projects with AE or MEP consulting firms
• Must have a strong project list - Life Sciences, Science & Technology, Healthcare, Hospitals and Laboratories.
• PE License is desirable but not required.
• Strong understanding of ASHRAE and international Building Codes
• Ability to multi-task with multiple projects in order to meet strict deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and/or related
