Job Title: AVP – Facilities & MEP Engineering

Location: New York, NY (On-site)

Salary Range: $65,000 – $150,000 (Based on experience)

Overview:

A global financial institution is seeking an experienced Facilities & MEP Engineer at the AVP level to manage and optimize the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems supporting its branch network and data center infrastructure. This role will focus on daily operations, risk management, vendor oversight, compliance, and project implementation to ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities & Engineering Operations

• Conduct regular inspections of MEP systems at branches and the data center
• Oversee third-party vendors and contractors for system maintenance and upgrades
• Lead planning and implementation of infrastructure improvements and equipment upgrades
• Develop and standardize internal procedures aligned with best practices and compliance requirements
• Respond to emergencies and develop robust contingency plans
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Risk, and other departments to support business operations
• Ensure MEP systems comply with internal standards, regulations, and industry codes
• Perform risk assessments, identify gaps, and drive mitigation efforts
• Support internal audits and maintain documentation for regulators and internal risk teams

Project Management

• Scope and manage facilities projects from design to completion
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely, on-budget execution
• Track and manage budgets, expenses, and vendor contracts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities, MEP systems, or critical infrastructure (preferably in a high-rise, campus, or financial institution setting)
• Proven experience managing HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Prior experience working with third-party vendors and internal compliance teams
• Strong understanding of facilities risk management and regulatory standards
• Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, and reporting
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Certifications such as FE, CET, or CBCT are a plus

Preferred Experience:

• Prior experience in financial services or regulated environments
• Familiarity with infrastructure systems within critical data center environments
• Budget management and understanding of general accounting practices
