Mokume Design Studio in San Francisco is seeking an in-house interior designer who is excited about design, health, and wellness. The ideal candidate is highly creative, detail-obsessed, and curious, with a passion for delivering great work while valuing balance and collaboration.
The role supports drafting, documentation, and execution across residential and hospitality projects, including finish and fixture selections, furniture, client interaction, and site visits.
We’re looking for an in-house interior designer that is genuinely excited about design, health and wellness. If you’re highly creative, a little obsessive about the details (in the best way), and naturally curious – and you care about doing great work while believing balance matters just as much as the work itself – we would love to have you on our team!
Mokume Design Studio is a boutique interior design studio rooted in wellness. Our work primarily focuses on hospitality and residential environments that wish to incorporate health + well-being into their space. The studio’s work is highly intentional – balancing creativity with technical rigor and supported by a small, close-knit team that values collaboration, trust, and long-term relationships.
This team member will work closely with the Principal and Lead Designer and is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, follow-through, and creating executable design concepts. They will support drafting, documentation, and execution across residential and hospitality projects.
While production and documentation are foundational to the role, the role includes additional responsibilities such as finish + fixture selection, furniture, design work, project ownership, and client interaction depending on experience, interest, and workload. This is a new role created to support the studio’s continued growth.
This position is 32-40 hours/week. We strongly prefer an on-site presence, as collaboration and productivity are so much more synergistic in person, with flexibility to WFH one day a week.
