Summary

This position serves as an advanced technician for outpatient care settings such as primary care, mental health, and specialty clinics. As an Intermediate Care Technician Generalist, the incumbent may serve in various settings including medical centers, community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs), and mobile medical units.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of 05/09/2025. Qualifications are based on experience and/or education, including:

• Individual Occupational Requirement: The (Intermediate Care Technician/GS-0640-07) requires meeting a specific occupational requirement, which will be reviewed via your resume.
• Specialized Experience (GS-4 and above): Support duties to medical or health personnel, applying knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position.
• Education and Training: Varies by grade, e.g., 1 year of study for GS-3, 2 years for GS-4, a 4-year bachelor's degree for GS-5, with relevant coursework.

Additional requirements include:

• One year of specialized experience at GS-6 level, including knowledge of anatomy, diagnostic signs, medication, isolation techniques, psychiatric conditions, and suicide risk assessment.
• Alternatively, education or a combination of education and experience can qualify.

Duties

• Performs vital signs and point-of-care tests

Additional Information

• Preferred experience in phlebotomy
• Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
• Physical requirements include extended periods of bending, standing, walking, and assisting patients
• Work environment involves exposure to infection and communicable diseases, with PPE usage required
