Job summary

The University of Kansas Finance Budget Management Team seeks a Financial Analyst Intermediate to support budgeting for ~15-20 departments and to work closely with the Budget Officer. You will perform financial analysis, prepare budgets, and provide monthly reports to department leaders.

Responsibilities also include payroll administration, cost allocations, and advising on endowment accounts, with collaboration across HR, Accounting, and other units. Start date is December 6, 2026.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience.
• Five years of advanced experience with computer applications for fiscal operations.
• Advanced accounting experience and skills, as evidenced by application materials.
• Attention to detail and excellent written communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.
• Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, as demonstrated by work history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee administrative budgets for 15-20 departments.
• Provide monthly financial reporting to Directors and staff.
• Perform financial analysis and support for leadership and special projects.
• Manage payroll appointments and budget allocations; approve funding changes.
• Assist with policy development and training within the finance unit.
