HATCH Architecture is a Los Angeles-based design studio seeking a talented, highly motivated Intermediate Architectural Designer to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone with exceptional Revit proficiency, strong design instincts, and the technical ability to contribute meaningfully to complex architectural projects from early design through construction documentation.
Our work spans high-end custom residential, hospitality, commercial, interiors, landscape/site design, and multidisciplinary design projects. We are especially interested in architecture that is deeply connected to site, landscape, material, and environmental performance.
This is a hands-on role within a small, ambitious studio, working directly with the principal architect and an experienced senior project team. The ideal candidate combines a sophisticated architectural design sensibility with excellent technical execution, organization, and the ability to work independently.
We value individuals who are creative, curious, dependable, and passionate about design excellence.
Develop architectural design studies, diagrams, drawings, models, and presentation materials.
Produce and develop Revit models, drawing sets, architectural details, and construction documentation to a high standard of accuracy and graphic clarity.
Support design development, permitting, and construction document packages for complex custom residential and multidisciplinary projects.
Translate architectural design concepts and senior team direction into well-resolved models, drawings, and building details.
Assist with architectural detailing, material selection, building systems, and technical design development.
Coordinate Revit models and drawing information with structural, MEP, and other project consultants.
Contribute to the development of renderings, visual studies, and presentations.
Assist with code research, permitting, agency coordination, and construction administration.
Participate actively in internal design discussions, project reviews, and the continued development of studio standards and workflows.
3–6 years of professional architectural experience preferred. Exceptional candidates outside this range will be considered.
Professional degree in architecture or related design field preferred.
Advanced Revit proficiency is essential, with demonstrated experience independently producing coordinated architectural models, construction drawing sets, and architectural details.
Strong architectural design sensibility, spatial understanding, and graphic presentation skills.
Experience developing permit and construction documentation on professionally executed projects.
Working knowledge of architectural detailing, materials, building assemblies, and construction systems.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, Twinmotion, 3ds Max, or similar modeling and visualization software is a plus.
Experience in high-end residential architecture or at a highly regarded, design-focused architecture practice is especially valued.
Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self-directed, dependable, and capable of managing deadlines with limited supervision.
Authorized to work in the United States.
We are especially interested in someone who:
Has strong architectural taste and cares deeply about design quality.
Enjoys both conceptual exploration and the technical craft of making buildings real.
Takes pride in producing accurate, beautifully organized drawings and models.
Is proactive, resourceful, and capable of taking ownership of assigned work.
Is comfortable with high expectations and enjoys working alongside experienced, motivated colleagues.
Wants meaningful responsibility, direct mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute visibly to the growth of an ambitious design studio.
HATCH is at an exciting stage of growth, with an expanding portfolio of ambitious architectural commissions.
Unlike larger firms, where designers may work on a narrow scope within a large project team, HATCH offers the opportunity to engage with multiple phases of the architectural process and work directly with senior architects and studio leadership.
Our small, collaborative structure provides meaningful creative input, direct exposure to project decisions, and the opportunity to develop both design and technical expertise.
We are building a design practice committed to exceptional architecture, innovation, and thoughtful collaboration. We are looking for individuals who want to grow with that vision and contribute to shaping the future of the studio.
