Job summary

Rivet seeks an Intermediate AI Engineer to lead AI/ML, software, and cloud technical initiatives at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.

You will define the overall technical architecture for ALD software, implement secure CI/CD pipelines, design and train ML models for predictive maintenance, perform data engineering on large datasets, and ensure DoD RMF and OPSEC compliance while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.
• Experience designing, building, testing, and deploying ML models and AI applications.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Define, document, and lead the overall technical architecture for ALD software, AI/ML, and cloud systems
• Establish and enforce coding standards, development methodologies, and QA processes
• Design, develop, train, and continuously improve machine learning models for predictive maintenance
• Perform advanced data engineering and feature extraction on large-scale datasets
• Architect, deploy, and maintain secure applications and infrastructure on government-owned infrastructure
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code
• Integrate language models into existing software
• Enforce data privacy and perform vulnerability patching when required to support RMF
• Ensure AI tools and techniques are authorized under DoD OPSEC policy and standards

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain a Secret security clearance
• Experience designing, building, testing, and deploying machine learning models and AI applications
• Proficiency with programming and query languages: Python and SQL
• Experience with ML/AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar
• Experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining AI systems and cloud environments on AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure
• Experience automating cloud, infrastructure, data, and AI processes
• Support security compliance for AI, cloud, and virtualized environments
• Experience mentoring junior technical staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications

• Experience to meet one of these qualifications is desired:
• 7 years general experience with an associate’s degree
• 8 years general experience with a bachelor’s degree
• 6 years general experience with a master’s degree

• In lieu of a degree, candidates may qualify with an additional number of years of relevant experience

Physical Requirements

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods
• Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen
• Must have sufficient mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties
• Possibility of walking moderate to long distance depending on parking and work location
• Possible lifting up to 40 lbs
