Qualifications

• Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Equivalency: Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 12 credit hours of Accounting (ACCT) course work and one year of professional experience directly related to duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor revenue and expenses; ensure expenditure control and compliance with funding and reporting requirements, university policy, and standard accounting procedures.
• Construct routine spreadsheet applications, prepare data for input into accounts receivable modules, and generate reports; perform calculations including various payments and assessments.
• Coordinate preparation of regularly scheduled and special billings; analyze and invoice statements for local, state, federal and private funding sources.
• Analyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain accounting records.
• Prepare, review, and process entries; may prepare reconciliations of mid-level complexity.
• Coordinate and monitor data processing batches.
• Assist with third party billing to sponsoring agencies, sponsored students and non-sponsored students, while complying with NMSU terms and privacy standards.
