Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Technical Designer focused on commercial interiors to design and produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to the team and clients to ensure success. This role requires proficiency in Revit and a collaborative spirit, with experience in construction documents and coordination with consultants, contractors, and clients.

The position emphasizes quality control, teamwork, and design excellence within a dynamic, client-facing environment at Gensler.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design, preferably with corporate interiors experience.
• 6+ years of professional experience in Architecture or Interior Design.
• Licensed Architect OR NCIDQ preferred.
• LEED accreditation encouraged.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, materials, and construction techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specs, and material selections; ensure design intent into construction documentation.
• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction.
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control.
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and clients to meet project objectives.
• Use hand sketches and 3D renderings to communicate design concepts.
• Interface with permitting officials during permitting and construction phases.
• Contribute to the financial performance of the project.
• Establish and maintain productive client relationships.
