Job summary

Gensler in San Diego, CA is seeking a Technical Designer to design and produce technical documentation for commercial interiors. You will communicate project progress to team members and clients, ensuring design intent is carried through construction documents and specifications.

The role requires expertise in Revit, AutoCAD and 3D modeling, with 5+ years in architecture/interior design, and a professional license or NCIDQ preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 5+ years of professional Architecture/Interior Design experience.
• Licensed Architect OR NCIDQ preferred; LEED accreditation encouraged.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, materials, specs, and construction techniques.
• Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp.

Responsibilities

• Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections; ensure design intent is reflected in construction documentation.
• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction.
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control.
