Job summary

Gensler in Boston is seeking a Technical Designer to collaborate with a team of architects, producing technical and contract documentation and communicating project progress to ensure client satisfaction.

You will partner with the Project Architect, coordinate design intent in construction docs, and participate in construction administration, site visits, and coordination with consultants and regulators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• 5-8 years of professional experience post graduation.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
• Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
• Proficient in Revit, Enscape, and other 3D modeling software.
• Portfolio will ideally include at least one project with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel, or Net Zero certification.
• Submit portfolio and resume in PDF format.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project.
• Provide project team coordination for incorporating design intent into the construction documentation.
• Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control.
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
• Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.
