Job summary

FastTek Global in Troy, Michigan seeks a Contract Materials Engineer to accelerate our accessories program over a 6–12 month engagement. You will own material development, testing, approvals, and supplier engagement across mold-in-color surfaces, soft trim, and other decorative materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry or equivalent.
• MS is a plus.
• 3+ years in materials engineering or closely related field.
• Ability to operate independently in a startup environment.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with partners, suppliers and labs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and approve material approvals across multiple categories and close backlogs.
• Execute a structured materials compatibility DOE program with testing and reporting.
• Collaborate to develop and validate material development programs for new appearances.
• Draft material performance specifications under senior direction.
• Coordinate with suppliers and teams to support product launches.
