Job summary

FastTek Global seeks a Contract Materials Engineer to accelerate an accessories program over 6–12 months, overseeing development, testing, approvals, and supplier engagement across mold-in-color surfaces, soft trim, and other decorative materials.

You will own material approvals, lead a structured DOE program, and collaborate with CMF, Vehicle Engineering, and suppliers to drive a robust materials development and validation plan for new appearance applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, chemistry or equivalent.
• 3+ years in materials engineering or a closely adjacent field.
• Ability to work independently and own a workstream.

Responsibilities

• Lead and approve Material Approvals across active material categories and close backlogs.
• Execute a structured materials compatibility DOE program with sample prep, prototyping partners and labs, with full reporting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop a materials development and validation program for new appearance applications.
• Draft material performance specifications from test data, references and first-principles reasoning.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and labs to support product launches.
