Job summary

General Motors’ Interior Vehicle Systems Engineer (VSE) leads the interior design intent and technical execution across vehicle subsystems, coordinating with Studio, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure performance, quality, and cost targets are met.

The VSE acts as SMT functional leader, guiding risk mitigation, governance, and executive communications while driving on-time delivery and strong cross‑functional collaboration across a global team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience in interior engineering.
• Ability to travel during vehicle launches.

Responsibilities

• System Integration & Program Leadership for interior coordination across subsystems and vehicle interfaces.
• Drive engineering execution efficiency and SMT engagement on critical risks.
• Technical leadership through structured problem solving and trade-off decisions.
• Identify and resolve interior issues at component and vehicle levels while balancing cost, safety and quality.
• Lead interior program planning and communicate status to leadership.
