General Motors is seeking an Interior Vehicle Systems Engineer to serve as the SMT functional leader for a vehicle program. You will own the interior design intent and ensure subsystem decisions meet performance, quality, timing, and cost targets while guiding a global team through integration and execution.

The role requires strong technical leadership, program management, and the ability to influence across the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
5+ years of engineering experience.
Experience in interior engineering.
Ability to travel during vehicle launches.

Responsibilities

System Integration & Program Leadership: Own Interior coordination across systems; align with program targets and milestones.
Technical Leadership: Lead root‑cause analysis, define must‑be‑true conditions, and manage interior issues across components and vehicle levels.
Executive & Cross‑Functional Communication: Deliver concise, executive‑ready updates for leaders and partners.
Influence, Negotiation & Alignment: Align stakeholders across Studio, Engineering, Performance, Manufacturing and Programs; remove roadblocks.
Program Management & Planning: Develop and manage interior 30/60/90‑day and long‑range plans; drive risk mitigation and tool readiness.
