Job summary

Kyyba Inc is seeking a Design & Release Engineer (DRE) for Interior Trim Plastics in Troy, MI. The role focuses on designing, validating, and launching cockpit trim components, including IP doors and finish trim, with strong emphasis on quality and FMVSS alignment.

The candidate should have 5+ years of automotive cockpit or interior trim experience, knowledge of APQP/PPAP, and proven cross-functional collaboration skills to deliver production-ready components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive).
• 5+ years in automotive cockpit system or interior trim engineering.
• Experience in cockpit validation, plastic trim design, interior materials, injection molding, or related release processes.
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and engineering change management.
• Supplier coordination, tooling reviews, and validation activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and launch of cockpit trim plastic components.
• Ensure packaging compatibility, interface alignment, and system functionality.
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve design and integration issues.
• Define and integrate critical characteristics with interfacing systems.
• Manage component releases, engineering changes, APQP activities, and PPAP documentation.
• Lead design reviews at key program milestones and evaluate validation plans.
