Job summary

Surface Experts is seeking a hands-on Field Technician to join our growing local team in Saddle Brook, NJ. You will diagnose and repair a variety of surface issues, often completing jobs in under an hour, using your creativity to solve problems on-site.

You will work with a supportive team, receive paid new-hire training, a branded company vehicle, and all required tools provided, with flexible scheduling and strong work-life balance as part of our values.

Qualifications

• Experience with hands-on work in construction, manufacturing, painting, or personal hobbies.
• Facilities maintenance experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to identify and match colors; an art background helpful but not required.
• Willingness to commit to learning a skill that may take months to master.

Responsibilities

• On the jobsite for 4+ customers per day.
• On-site work orders, customer service, and follow-ups.
• Working for a variety of customers in different industries including Property Management, Hotels, Movers, Builders, etc.
• Display world-class customer service for tenants and property management staff.
• Track work progress and notes in our CRM/Dispatch tool.
• Communicate with support team with questions.
• Understand and utilize our unique 5-step repair process.
• Employ each tool in your custom tool-kit.
• Problem-solve repairs with creativity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with your hands - This could be in construction, manufacturing, painting, or even a personal hobby
• Experience working in facilities maintenance can be a big plus, but is not required
• An ability to identify, compare, and recreate colors - Understanding color and how to match color is a large part of what we do. An art background is helpful, but not necessary.
• Willingness to commit to learning a skill that may take months to master.
