Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors in Austin, TX is seeking a full-time home furnishing sales/interior designer who is outgoing and passionate about design to help customers create the perfect feel in their homes while maintaining high service standards at our South Austin location.

The role requires a consultative selling approach, showroom design services, and a proven retail record; bilingual skills and ability to lift 25 pounds are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years of proven retail sales/customer service –furniture experience and background in interior design strongly preferred.
• High-end apparel and luxury retail sales experience considered.
• Exceptional sales and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to work well in a team concept and on your own.
• Optimistic, outgoing and an energetic personality.

Responsibilities

• Take a consultative selling approach to building customer relationships as you help prospective buyers select home furnishing pieces that best suit their needs.
• Provide design services in showroom for furniture, accessories and rug selection including finish, color customization and style options.
• Proven sales results from in-store and in-home consultations.
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of our merchandise.
• Demonstrate design skills, professional communication, and follow-up skills.
• Collaborate on social media posts.
• Maintain the appearance of the store at all times.
• Attend and participate in weekly store meetings and individual meetings.
• Develop expert knowledge of procedures and computer systems.
• Must have excellent listening skills and the ability to work independently and as a team.
