Job summary

CID Design Group seeks an Interior Designer III to guide project teams through all design phases with ownership and creativity. You will drive complex multi-family, hospitality, and well-centric projects, collaborating with clients and vendors to realize CID’s design vision.

You will lead schematic design through construction documents in Revit/AutoCAD, coordinate with PMs, develop finishes and FF&E, and mentor junior staff to elevate technical execution and professional growth within CID’s

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture required.
  • WELL AP and NCIDQ certifications preferred where applicable.
  • 8 years of experience in a similar role, with multi-family, hospitality or commercial projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong Adobe Suite, especially Photoshop; MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, design and coordinate all phases of interior design from concept to installation.
  • Produce schematic, design development, and construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with contracts and project managers to align scope, budget, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants and vendors on project features embodying CID’s excellence.
  • Prepare documentation for proposals, change orders, and milestone tracking.
  • Guide finishes, fixtures, furniture, and lighting within budget and availability.
  • Develop and review client presentations and CID branding in design packages.
  • Lead client presentations with clear communication of design intent and rationale.
  • Review FF&E specifications, procurement docs, and installation coordination.
  • Conduct quality control of drawings, samples and specifications.
  • Support site visits, RFIs, submittals and shop drawings as needed.
  • Mentor junior team members on design development and technical execution.

Job description

The Interior Designer III is responsible for guiding the project team through all phases of the design process with a high level of ownership, creativity, and technical expertise. This individual plays a key role in project execution, client relationships, and the development of junior team members. The ID III is expected to confidently manage complex projects, ensure design excellence, and drive alignment between design vision and project deliverables. You will work in partnership to create and simultaneously deliver multiple, customized multi-family, hospitality, and well-centric projects.

WHAT YOU DO
  • Lead, design and coordinate all phases of interior design process from concept development through installation.
  • Lead design and production of schematic, design development, and construction documents in trade software like Revit, AutoCAD, etc.,
  • Collaborate with the contracts and project managers to ensure design scope, budget, fees, and deliverables align with contract terms; support plan reviews and FFE takeoffs as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, vendors to coordinate, and develop project-specific design features and materials embodying CID’s commitment to client experience and excellence in partnership.
  • Support preparation of documentation tied to design scope for proposals, change orders, and project milestone tracking.
  • Guide the selection and documentation of finishes, fixtures, furniture, and lighting with consideration for budget, availability, and performance.
  • Develop and review internal and client presentations for alignment with client vision, client branding packages, and CID conceptual design aesthetic.
  • Lead client presentations with clear communication of design intent and rationale.
  • Review and manage FF&E specifications, procurement documentation, and installation coordination.
  • Conduct and coordinate quality control reviews of drawing sets, sample boards, and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Support construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals and shop drawings, and attending site visits as needed.
  • Monitor scope boundaries and proactively flag potential changes that may impact schedule, budget, or contract terms.
  • Partner with team lead and other departments to support standard processes, create organizational efficiencies, and consult on product strategies.
  • Work in partnership with the team lead to mentor junior team members providing guidance on design development, technical execution, and continuing education opportunities to support their overall professional development.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited
  • WELL AP certification, NCIDQ certification, and other industry experience as needed
  • 8 years of experience in a similar position. Preferably with multi-family, hospitality, spa, and/or commercial industries
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, a must, and strong knowledge of Adobe Suite (especially Photoshop), MS Office (especially MS PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of modeling software (Sketch -up, 3D Studios, Rhino 3-D, etc.)
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD and Studio WebWare, a plus. Knowledge of current design trends and product resourcing
  • Excellent space planning skills with knowledge of building codes, building systems, and construction methods.
  • Knowledge of material costs and specifications.
  • Understanding of budgets and material costs.
  • Experience specifying FFE for a variety of project types (i.e. models, clubhouses, pools, etc.,).
  • Strong organization, follow through, attention to detail, collaboration, and aesthetic alignment with CID brand.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, in particular client facing presentation with command of design and construction vocabulary and vendor communication.
