This position will have a design or technical focus and be part of our multidisciplinary team, collaborating with design and technical leadership. You will be an integral member of project teams working on a healthcare facility over 2 million square feet at Mayo Clinic's Rochester campus. Under the supervision of project leadership, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assist Senior Interior Designer and/or Project Manager in executing project goals across all phases, including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
- Contribute to furniture design development, including planning, selection, and 3D studies.
- Independently assist in designing and documenting interior spaces, including creating floor plan drawings.
- Support the Senior Interior Designer with furniture, layout, and specifications throughout project phases.
- Create drawings adhering to project constraints of time, budget, and quality.
- Prepare renderings and presentation materials.
- Follow CannonDesign drawing standards.
- Participate in client meetings alongside the Senior Interior Designer to gain experience in client interaction and presentation.
- Engage in construction administration activities such as site visits, reviewing submittals and installation drawings, and conducting punch lists, which may require physical site walkthroughs.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and guide project documentation development.
- Actively promote high-quality design work.
- Apply materials properly in projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Ability to contribute to the development of project technical and design content.
- A strong creative portfolio, along with excellent communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills, and multitasking ability.
- Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Professional business attire for client meetings, including suits, ties, collared shirts, dresses, or skirts.
- Willingness to travel.
The salary range for this position is $56,795 to $70,948 annually, reflecting our current estimate of the possible base compensation. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, education, and skills.
