STV Interior Designer Associate Job Description
STV is seeking an Interior Designer Associate to join the Construction Manager team in Los Angeles, CA.
Duties:
- Assist the Interior Designer in evaluating furniture, fixtures, and equipment needs for projects, developing solutions within budget, schedule, and standards.
- Develop space plans and interior architectural layouts; assist in selecting furnishings, equipment, and interior finishes for schools, adhering to District and industry standards.
- Review and evaluate construction documents; visit project sites to ensure space plans, design concepts, and furniture and equipment are safe, functional, and aesthetically appropriate, complying with safety, accessibility, environmental, and sustainability guidelines.
- Participate in planning meetings and site visits to review project needs and progress.
- Help develop and implement project schedules and coordinate the installation of furniture and equipment.
- Communicate with manufacturers and vendors regarding custom products and design solutions.
- Prepare detailed reports and records for furniture and equipment provisioning.
- Manage and update lists of furniture, equipment, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Consult with manufacturers and vendors on product specifications, finishes, and pricing.
- Coordinate product specifications and purchase orders with the District procurement office.
- Create interior drawings and visual aids for review and approval.
- Assist in replacing furniture and equipment at sites as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum six (6) years of full-time paid professional experience in conceptualizing, planning, and coordinating interior layouts, finishes, furniture, and equipment, with the required degree.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university in interior design, interior architecture, architecture, or a related field.
OR
- Completion of 40 semester units or equivalent in interior design, architecture, or related field, with an additional 2 years of experience.
Compensation Range:
$87,509.45 - $116,679.27
