Job description

STV is seeking an Interior Designer Associate to join the Construction Manager team in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties :

  1. Assist the Interior Designer in evaluating furniture, fixtures, and equipment needs for projects, developing efficient solutions within budget, schedule, and standards.
  2. Develop space plans and interior architectural layouts; assist in selecting furnishings, equipment, and interior finishes for schools in accordance with District and industry standards.
  3. Review and evaluate construction documents; visit project sites to ensure that space plans, design concepts, and selected furniture and equipment are safe, functional, and aesthetically appropriate, complying with all relevant health, safety, and welfare standards including fire, life safety, accessibility, environmental, and sustainability guidelines.
  4. Support planning meetings and site visits to review project needs and status.
  5. Assist in developing and implementing project schedules and coordinating the installation of furniture and equipment.
  6. Communicate with manufacturers and vendors regarding custom products and design solutions.
  7. Prepare detailed reports and records for furniture and equipment provisioning.
  8. Manage and update lists of furniture, equipment, manufacturers, and vendors used by the district.
  9. Consult with manufacturers and vendors on product specifications, finishes, and pricing.
  10. Coordinate product specifications and purchase orders with the District procurement office.
  11. Create interior drawings and visual aids for review and approval.
  12. Assist sites with furniture and equipment replacement as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

Minimum six (6) years of full-time paid professional experience in conceptualizing, planning, selecting, and coordinating interior layouts, finishes, furniture, and equipment, with the required degree.

Education :

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree preferably in interior design, interior architecture, architecture, or a related field. Completion of 40 semester units or equivalent in interior design, architecture, or related fields, plus an additional 2 years of experience.

Compensation Range :

$87,509.45 - $116,679.27
