Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Interior Design, Architecture, or Healthcare Facilities Planning.
  • Healthcare facility planning experience with finishes, furniture, and expansion projects.
  • 2 years of professional experience or internship.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, and FGI Guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, self-motivated and adaptable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job description

  • Assist and collaborate with the Design Studio team on low- to mid-complexity facility projects across the enterprise, including renovation, new construction, and recapitalization of existing facilities
  • Assist in managing project design intent
  • Participate in developing budgets and schedules and determining scope of work
  • Investigate, evaluate, and document existing conditions
  • Develop potential design solutions that meet client needs
  • Organize assignments, goals, schedules, people, and processes
  • Assess facility and space requests, including furniture requirements
  • Assist with preparation and development of space programs
  • Work with consulting architects and interior designers to translate project objectives and design concepts into functional building designs
  • Educate health system stakeholders on interior design industry trends
  • Assist in walkthroughs, field verification, and project scope documentation
  • Perform furniture planning and finish/material selections for clinical, research, educational, administrative, and support areas
  • Create and document ideas in 2D and 3D to portray initial concepts
  • Prepare and present project information, design guidelines, trends, and special studies internally and externally
  • Assist in developing furniture specifications and coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture or Healthcare Facilities Planning and Design
  • Healthcare facility planning experience, including developing and coordinating materials, finishes and furniture for expansion, renovation and/or new projects
  • Two years of professional experience, which may include internship experience
  • General knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements and FGI Guidelines
  • Knowledge of architecture and healthcare planning to develop practical concepts/solutions and assist with project budgets and schedules
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, self-motivated and adapt quickly to project needs
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of building design, systems, and construction
  • Knowledge of design principles, color application, materials and aesthetic form
  • Ability to conceptualize space and understand operations and workflow
  • Advanced sketching, rendering, and interior architecture detailing skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suites, and Microsoft Products (PPT, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to travel between Broward and Indian River Counties regularly
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Passport and/or ability to obtain a passport within a reasonable time frame
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds
  • Compliance with annual influenza vaccination program or approved exemption
  • Successful controlled-substance testing after an offer of employment
