Job summary

Boulder Creek Custom Homes LLC in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Interior Designer / Design Coordinator to translate client visions into 3D models, assist with finish selections, estimate materials, and ensure projects align with budgets and style preferences.

You will meet with clients, collaborate with our sales team and trade partners, and produce 3D renderings and CAD drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, 20/20, SketchUp or SoftPlan, while coordinating with architects and suppliers

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
• 3+ years in residential interior design or high-end remodeling.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Portfolio of residential projects with 3D renderings required.

Interior Designer / Design Coordinator

We specialize in high-quality custom homes, extensive residential remodels (kitchens, bathrooms, additions), and specialty exteriors. Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, self-motivated Interior Designer / Design Coordinator to join our team. In this multi-faceted role, you will work closely with clients, our sales team, and trade specialists throughout the entire design and construction process. You will transform client visions into 3D models, assist with comprehensive finish selections, estimate materials, and ensure projects align with client budgets and style preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consultation & Concept Design

• Visit job sites to analyze space availability, measure layouts, and evaluate structural design needs.

• Conduct initial client discovery meetings to determine aesthetic preferences, functional goals, interior styles, and color themes.

• Develop initial design concepts, spatial layouts, and mood boards to align client goals before moving to technical drawings.

Material Selection & Coordination

• Guide clients through selections for all interior and exterior finishes, including plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, flooring, paint, countertops, cabinetry, hardware, and exterior cladding.

• Ensure design selections adhere to project budget requirements while maintaining target profit margins.

• Maintain client communication and project documentation through design and project management software such as Houzz, BuilderTrend, or UDA.

Drafting & 3D Visualization

• Translate approved floor plans and concepts into detailed 3D renderings and CAD drawings to give clients virtual walkthroughs of their space.

• Create room-by-room details including custom cabinetry layouts, fireplaces, tiled showers, and trim profiles for field carpenters and subcontractors.

• Utilize design and rendering software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, 20/20 3D Design, SketchUp, or SoftPlan.

Estimating & Project Coordination

• Prepare itemized material and labor line-item bids and pre-project estimates.

• Collaborate with architects, trade specialists, project managers, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.

• Keep clients updated on timeline progress, selections, and budget status throughout construction.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in residential interior design, custom home building, or high-end remodeling.

• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in 3D modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, Chief Architect, 20/20, ) and Adobe Creative Suite / Photoshop. Take a learning approach to comprehending

• Skills: Strong eye for detail, space planning expertise, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven client management capabilities.

• Portfolio: A design portfolio demonstrating residential projects, 3D renderings, and material selection concepts is required with your application.

Work Hours, Compensation & Benefits

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (or by client appointment as needed).

• Compensation: Competitive salary plus performance and project bonuses.
