PSE Group is seeking an Interior Designer for our Marshalltown store. The interior designer will work in the showroom and at customer homes and businesses to assist in selecting paint, flooring, and window treatments, creating functional and aesthetically pleasing designs, and presenting plans. The role involves retail sales to walk-in customers across all departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of color, familiarity with home décor products, trends, and fashions, and a passion for high-quality customer service. Cooperation and good interpersonal skills are essential as team collaboration is vital. The position requires working between four and five days per week. A degree in Interior Design and relevant work experience are preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

Essential Duties

• Follow all safety regulations.
• Serve in-store customers at the counter.
• Handle customer service activities, including processing orders, answering questions, tracking order status, and managing shipments.
• Conduct onsite consultations, measurements, calculations, and input of product information for quotes and orders.
• Develop accurate quotes and manage costs within budgets.
• Plan and estimate project costs.
• Reconcile inventory and manage stock.
• Maintain customer records and files, ensuring accurate account setup and pricing.
• Prepare paint for customer orders, adhering to safety protocols (supplies provided).
• Assist with decorating projects involving color, windows, and flooring.
• Develop knowledge of flooring, tile, window coverings, and related products.
• Receive and stock incoming inventory appropriately.
• Organize stock and maintain inventory levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in interior design or related fields.
• Strong math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Proficiency with computers for order processing, design drawings, and presentations.
• Ability to lift and move 25-50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Interior Design or related field.
• 3+ years of interior decorating or related experience.
• Experience in customer service, inside sales, or counter sales.
• Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass a drug screening and meet vehicle report requirements during hiring.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk and stand on hard surfaces for 2.5 to 8 hours, lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, and perform reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, and ladder climbing tasks while carrying products.
