Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr

Designer

Summary

The Designer is a creative and detail-oriented professional responsible for maintaining the company’s aesthetic standards throughout project design. Key duties include conducting site surveys, developing space plans, translating concepts into curated environments, selecting furniture, art, and decor, sourcing materials, and collaborating with internal teams to execute designs. The role requires strong communication with stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and high-quality results.

Position Requirements

  1. Conduct detailed site surveys of active projects, recording conditions for design execution, with support from Design Assistants.
  2. Create and manage digital drawings for space planning.
  3. Manage production of furniture, art, and accessory plans based on guidelines from the Head of Staging.
  4. Select and propose furniture, art, and accessories from warehouse stock or new purchases for review and approval.
  5. Select paint colors and develop paint schedules.
  6. Compile comprehensive design documentation for each project.
  7. Oversee internal painters for custom paintwork, murals, or canvas work.
  8. Shop online and in-store for design items.
  9. Supervise project installation, coordinating with warehouse and installation teams for deliveries.
  10. Manage project budgets as set by the Head of Staging and tracked by the Director of Staging.
  11. Update and adjust project timelines to stay on schedule under the Director’s guidance.
  12. Use proprietary software for inventory and project management proficiently.
  13. Respond to internal feedback from the Head and Director of Staging.
  14. Address external client feedback promptly.
  15. Participate in weekly design meetings with the team.
  16. Travel to project sites as needed.
  17. Oversee installation styling and moving activities as required.

Skills and Experience

  1. B.A. in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Experience in interior design or architecture, especially high-end residential or commercial projects.
  3. Proficiency with AutoCAD; Rhino and SketchUp are a plus.
  4. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, Pages, and Microsoft Office.
