Job summary

Barton + Barton Interiors, a full-service design + build firm in Del Mar, CA, is seeking a hands-on Interior Designer with 3–5 years of experience for our Del Mar studio. You will work alongside senior designers and project leads, contributing across concept to construction stages and gaining mentorship.

You will develop design concepts, select finishes, prepare drawings and presentations, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors on-site.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional interior design experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design (or related field) preferred.
• Strong FF&E selection and specification skills.
• Solid space planning and concept development ability.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent presentation and client-facing communication skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with vendors and trades on-site.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Select and specify finishes, furniture, lighting, and fixtures (FF&E).
• Help prepare construction drawings and client presentations.

The Role

We're looking for a full-time, on-site Interior Designer with 3–5 years of experience to join our Del Mar studio. You'll work alongside our senior designers and project leads, helping bring projects from concept through construction — not running jobs solo, but playing a key hands-on role at every stage. This is a great fit for someone who wants to keep growing as a designer on high-end residential and new construction projects, with strong mentorship along the way.
