Job summary

Floor & Decor in Portland, OR is seeking a design consultant to deliver in-store, design-forward solutions that blend personal style with budget. You will meet customers, understand project needs, and educate on requirements to craft cohesive concepts.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, advising on tile, wood, and stone for residential and commercial projects, and collaborating with store leadership to drive sales and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals and store leads.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with clear communication and timely updates.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and meet sales goals.
